An eighteenth-century English aristocrat, the Earl of Sandwich, was fond of playing cards. He used to play cards night and day and hated to interrupt the game for his meals. New technology will soon allow troops to use their voices to command robots. This new device consists of an earpiece that connects to a small PC. The robot’s movements will be guided by voice control. When operators give speaking commands, such as ‘forward’ or ‘stop’, the device will pick up the sound waves generated by their voices. The device is also equipped with cameras as well, so troops will be able to view images.

Inside the Space Shuttle, there are controls on all the surfaces, and astronauts use Velcro to attach themselves or other objects. There are cupboards for sleeping, or astronauts can use sleeping bags they attach to the wall, ceiling or floor.
